Chez moi

Chez moi

No sooner do I set foot outside in Toronto than I stumble upon this sweet café and boutique, making me feel almost at home. Chez moi is France now, I remind myself, and I am only a visitor in this impossibly big, booming city I used to call home.

I’ll leave you with this postcard for now. Holidays are made for being fully present. More on my adventures as a foreigner in Canada when I return home next week!

A suivre…

Cheers my dear. It is Canada Day and we are celebrating with family before heading back home tomorrow. Just long enough away to start to feel a tad homesick… xx

Have a great trip “home”…hope you won’t suffer too much from the current heatwave. It is quite a big one!
We are managing to stay cool though we don’t have air con in our apartment! (Suzanne)

Thank you Suzanne! It sure is a hot one today for Canada Day. Glad of the A/C, although it was way too much for us during the earlier cooler days. Stefan has caught a cold which as any true Frenchman he blames on the air con! Happy national fête du Canada and courage for the heatwave to you and Pierre!

Cicéron a clairement affirmé:”ubi bene, ibi patria!” = la patrie est là où l’on se sent bien! – et je suis entièrement d’accord avec lui… 🙂

Ah, you are so well read, Melanie! I am afraid your French culture is light years ahead of mine. But our sentiments are perfectly aligned! 🇫🇷 Vive la France!
